They can be recycled and, as they can be used for long periods of time, substantial cost savings can be made. EA PVC core tube is a little more expensive to buy than a conventional cardboard one, but it can be used again and again, year after year, reducing its cost to zero, with the obvious commercial and economic advantages that this entails. By reusing the plastic core tube, you will avoid the costs involved in disposing of used conventional packaging. In several European countries more than 50% of all the core tubes sent out to the market have been recovered and reused.
Can I use the FIAP PVC core tube for internal use within our flexible packaging extrusion plant, as an alternative to cardboard or metal?
-- Yes. It is possible to use 3 and 6 inch PVC mandrels instead of cardboard and metal core tubes. FIAP core tubes can endure years of intensive work in the factory without collapsing or losing any of their mechanical properties. We can manufacture core tubes with a smooth or grooved interior surface, and we can adapt them to any potential production requirements.
It is possible to label them?
--Yes. The external surface of the core tube can be labelled. We can manufacture them in different colours so that the products stored on them or sent out to the market can be quickly identified.
